Tree preservation order

Reported in the Trees category anonymously at 14:30, Sun 26 July 2020

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2217271.

On Clyde Lane off Elliston Road. This majestic London Plane hosts a variety of wildlife including blue tits, robins, blackbirds, dove, magpie, jackdaw and squirrels. It has been severely pollarded in the past couple of years and is just beginning to flourish again. It is well loved in this neighbourhood. Just as it is returning to its former glory, a planning application has been submitted which will undoubtably threaten both its roots and its canopy. Although the application does not say that they plan to remove it, the location of the proposed development will very much threaten this beautiful tree’s survival and that of the wildlife that rely on it.
