Leaning tree

Reported in the Trees category anonymously at 18:49, Mon 27 July 2020

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

The tree in the photo is on the east side of the A3029 Winterstoke Road, about 23 yds north of the junction of Winterstoke Road and Smyth Road, and halfway between that junction and a bus-stop further to the north. The tree is leaning at an angle I would guess is about 18 degrees from the vertical. This is worrying because if the tree should fall in a high wind the consequences could be fatal. There would also be severe damage to the adjacent highway. Can the safety of the tree be assessed and remedial action taken if deemed necessary?
