Speed bump request
Reported in the General Highways Enquiry category anonymously at 11:56, Mon 3 August 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2228374.
I've lived at my address for over 8 years now and have always been concerned for people spending up and down Whittock Road, around 40 to 50mph.
There is so much wildlife around this area such as deer, foxes, badgers etc
My son and I have nearly been hit many times just crossing the road to the local park, People come rushing around the corner very fast.
There is a school, a park and many children and cats roaming this area, I think it would be a great idea to get speedbumps on Whittock road fir the safety of children and animals.
4 weeks ago my cat got hit by a car which was a cover traumatising experience, I dont wish it on anyone. This is what finally pushed me into contacting you for help.
My neighbors are also always complaining about speeding up and down the road, Its incredibly dangerous as its such a narrow road.
Last but not least, There is a gang that goes up and down this road that are all on motorbikes that drives in the woods which is illegal. One tried to run my son over whilst walking through the park last year. If there are speedbumps it may also discourage them going fast down whittock Road, Then the police might be able to catch them. As many has reported them but no one has been able to get them yet.
I really hope you can help, I want to live in peace again.
Best regards
Colleen
