Tree Preservation Order Application

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

There is a mature London Plane tree in Clyde Lane at the back of no 3 Clyde Park. This is an attractive tree and hosts lots of wildlife, in particular birds. It is integral to the green nature of the Conservation Area of Redland.

A planning application has been made to BCC to demolish the two garages here and build a two storey (24 feet high) house. This would not only encroach on the canopy, but I fear that the building work would damage the root system of the tree and cause long term damage to the tree. The house foundations will sit on piles, laid to a depth which would go through the roots.

To accommodate the house, the tree would have to be continually pollarded, which would add extra expense to BCC but also may further damage the tree.
