Pedestrian crossing out, no signs for pedestrians!
Reported in the Road Signage category anonymously at 22:29, Tue 18 August 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2252608.
If the crossing lights are out, why is there only a sign telling drivers that the crossing isn't working? The only purpose of the traffic lights is to stop traffic so people can cross the busy road. A sign for pedestrians in a newly dangerous situation might be more useful than a sign for drivers who are not made less safe by the crossing not working.

Hi, this crossing was the victim of a road traffic collision and it needed to be switched off to be made safe and repaired. We will remind our maintenance contractor to use "crossing out of use" covers for the pedestrian kerbside displays. The traffic signals out of use sign for drivers is to warn them that the traffic signals are not working and to approach the crossing with caution as pedestrians may still attempt to cross. This crossing was fixed on 19th August.
