Flooding/very large puddle in wet weather on diversion pathway around building works on Bedminster Rd. Children and parents need to use this pathway if coming from Marksbury Rd or from St Johns Lane to Parson Street Primary School. Concerned that children may go into the road to avoid the large puddle.

I have just watched a group of young children trying to use the Zebra crossing near the junction of Bedminster Road and Shepton Walk. The area 30 metres each side of the crossing is flooded to a depth of between 2 and 5 cm and is inpassable. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS as children and adults have no means to safely cross the road. I have lived in this area for 35 years and the flooding has only begun to occur at this point in the last 12 months. There is extensive construction work across the road, but that side doesn't seem affected. You also need to look at both the building work that has been taking place on the Premier Shop site and whether the accidental discharge of concrete has blocked the draining system or whether the ongoing extension to 74 Bedminster Road has similarly compromised the drains. As a former Chair of School Governors at nearby Parson Street, I am alarmed that there is a serious accident waiting to happen. Let me repeat, this is not something that has happened regularly over the last 35 years and therefore its regular occurence now most likely can be traced to recent building works.
