Not notified and unprofessional workmanship
Reported via mobile in the General Highways Enquiry category anonymously at 20:13, Wed 7 October 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2330851.
The works on Melrose Place that began on the 6th October have closed off one half of an already busy and crowded road, with limited parking, without notifying any of the residents in advance. The works are also not listed on One Network or your website and no signs have been displayed (which is a violation of ‘The Bristol Code of Conduct for Street works and Road work’ that states that, 2 weeks prior to commencing work, signage should be displayed around the affected area outlining the reason and duration of the work to be carried out). I am a resident of this road, I pay frankly extortionate amounts in council tax and I am incredibly disappointed and frustrated. I expect for all residents of the street to receive formal notice of the works going on by the end of the week. I would also appreciate an explanation by way of response.
