Encroaching vegetation has covered at least half the pavement, leaving only a narrow strip beside a fast busy road for foot passengers. Investigation today reveals that there is at least 800 mm tarmac buried under soil and ivy with saplings taking root, and leaving less than 800 mm next to the road for foot passengers. Longstanding problem, previously reported without action being taken.
