Some hopefully useful information for everyone.
If you want to ring someone to report pavement parking that is causing an obstruction on a pavement, it depends if there are any markings on the road, or not, who to ring:
- If there are no markings on the road, you need to ring the non-emergency police line on 101 to report this. - If there are any markings on the road however, you can ring the Bristol City Council parking services control room on (0117) 903 8070 to report this.
Basically, if there are no markings on the road then Bristol City Council cannot do anything about it, where as the police can, In theory, act under any circumstances.
I hope this helps to somehow clarify this needlessly confusing situation.
