Extreme Flooding at the bottom of Rose Green Road
Reported via desktop in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 01:08, Wed 18 November 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2393086.
There seems to be a permanent flood at the bottom of the hill. It is obvious the drains are blocked. This seems to be a recurring problem in this area.

How did the investigation go? The water is flowing out of the retaining wall at the bottom of the hill. Please get this fixed before the water starts freezing. If I fall off my bike because of ice caused by this reported perma-flood, I will claim against BCC.

You have had over two weeks to 'investigate' this issue. You have done nothing and provided no update.

A cursory investigation by myself has revealed that the rainwater gully on the North side of the junction is absolutely rammed with chippings. The South side is probably the same, but the road camber does not allow the water to go anywhere else. This is as a result of what is laughingly called road resurfacing using tar and chippings withoug a proper roller being used. It is clear that some 5 metres plus of new road surface, only carried out a few months ago, has disappeared. When are the "road authorities" going to stop cutting corners and get a proper job done, and also adopt some form of quality control over their contractors? Money in this case is literally being poured down thd drain.

This is beyond a joke, you're still saying the same thing you said on 4th December. ETM have been out working on the very same road twice now and this issue hasn't been resolved. Can BCC not get anything done in a timely manner?

To the person who entered that last post earlier today. The contractors were there sorting out a longstanding gas leak. As it happens they needed to drain the area (as best as they could) clearly with not much success. As my previous entry intimated the drains are blocked by road gravel from a botched resurfacing process.

The drain on the corner is still blocked, despite the dry weather we have had this week the drain is obviously blocked and requires immediate attention. Although the water has reduced it is a long standing problem and should be repaired sooner than asap!

Over a month ago you instructed your contractors to clear the drain and yet still no action whatsoever. Why am I paying council tax for this invisible level of service? The road is now so damaged by surface water throughout the winter that it will require resurfacing. Though your total inaction you have massively increased the cost of the job when you could have easily sent someone out to clear the drain months ago. Maybe you could tear yourself away from your desk for a couple of hours and do the job yourself. Appalling service from the worst council in the country. I'm a socialist but I'll be voting for a Tory mayor for Bristol in the next election because I'm fed up with your lack of action wasting my money. I hope a Tory mayor makes lots of job cuts at the council.
