  • Can the Council urgently provide an update on this matter which has been a major irritant to the residents of The Quays since the end of November? I believe the issue is a statutory nuisance as defined by the legislation i.e. a) unreasonably and substantially interfere with the use or enjoyment of a home or other premises b) injure health or be likely to injure health.

  • Disturbance throughout the day & night. Getting louder as the cover loosens. Distress increasing as lockdown keeps us in. Sleep deprivation getting to critical state of already depressed & frustrated residents.

  • Reporting this for several months now. Reported now by many residents who's bedrooms face on to Cumberland Road. Noisy at all times but worse at night when vehicles speed up.

  • The problem has not been fixed despite repeated attempts from the number of parties to get some action– Indeed the problem is getting worse and the noise emitted by the crack of the manhole cover at night is keeping local residents awake. We require an immediate response from the Council.
