Trip hazard - damaged footpath on way to school
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 17:06, Tue 29 December 2020
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2452416.
Footpath on Upper Church Lane (corner to Old Park Hill) is significantly damaged by tree roots and very uneven.
This is the main path leading to St Michael's on the Mount C of E Primary School. We are concerned that the damage represents a trip hazard for our families and staff. This has developed over time - it has been highlighted by staff since this autumn (photos taking in October).

Hello BCC team,
Thanks for investigating. We have been in touch with a tree surgeon to discuss reducing the tree that is causing the damage. The tree surgeon informed us that this wouldn't stop the damage to the path in the long term.
We've also been told that BCC sometimes requests the removal of a tree, if it is causing damage to a footpath. Could you please let us know, if this the case here? We would like to clarify it before proceeding with crown reduction work.
The photos attached are from last Friday (8 January).
Thanks very much!

Schools are returning on Monday, 8 March, and we have not received an update.
We are very concerned that this trip hazard has not been addressed.
Please contact the school to discuss next steps.

As this issue is not urgent we'll deal with it as part of a future planned work scheme in this area.
