Hole on pavement where tree was removed
Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 12:12, Mon 8 February 2021
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2533307.
There is a hole on the pavement outside 2 Cornwall Road, where a tree was planted and then removed again. The tree officer has stated that they will not use this site, and that "highways will fill it in at some point later". I'm reporting this in case they haven't asked you to do so, and because it looks as if you may be scheduling work in Cornwall road soon, so it'd be a pity to miss the chance to do it while you are working here anyway.

ETM will apparently be working on Cornwall Road 24/03 for two days doing "carriageway works". I hope this small job can be added to what they do...

Last night I injured my ankle when I tripped on this hole.
The location is poorly lit with no barrier around the hole.
This hole is over 60mm deep, under no circumstances should it have been left like this. It has been in this state for more than 2 months, it should have been made safe as part of the removal of the tree.
There is a high risk of serious injury and significant expense to the citizens of Bristol if the council is sued as the result of an injury incurred as a result of the in-completed work.
Someone will fall and break bones.
Fix it immediately before a serious injury occurs.
