Leaning tree

Reported via iOS in the Trees category by Robert Collins at 10:04, Tue 16 February 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

This tree is outside my house. I could easily be wrong but I don’t remember it leaning as much as it is doing now. It is certainly leaning much more than any of the neighbouring trees. I just thought I should bring it to your attention in case something needed to be done.

Updates

  • Someone may have been to see the tree and decided it is not in danger of falling across the footpath. If they have decided it is not dangerous, I am happy with that. If I had said nothing and the tree had fallen and injured someone, or had just damaged cars, I would not have felt good about it.

  • The tree is still there. It may have been investigated and found to be safe, but I’m not aware of it.

  • The tree has now fallen / is falling. It may just be kept up by leaning on the lamppost. A neighbour has called the council emergency number and we are told a tree surgeon will be here this evening. It’s a pity my first message here, in February, was not actioned.
