Pothole in centre of road causing shaking to houses
Reported via desktop in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 11:32, Wed 24 February 2021
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2568851.
This is a further degradation of the road which has been repaired multiple times. Due to the heavy vehicles using the road it is causing severe shaking to the houses adjacent to the pothole. Cracks are appearing in the internal plasterwork and windows shake each time an HGV hits the hole. We believe there should be a weight limit on York Road as there are cellars under the road along parts of the carriageway and the road is not designed to support heavy vehicles on this side (unlike the Clarence Road route on the other side of the river). Please address as a matter of urgency - beyond the superficial fixing of a hole (which never lasts for long due to the heavy traffic).

No attempt appears to have been made to fix this in the 3+ months since it was reported. Houses along the road are shaking every time a vehicle hits this pothole. The pothole has enlarged and is now kicking out stones and gravel from the roadbed under the tarmac.
