Flooding again due to insufficient or blocked drains
Reported via mobile in the Flooding category anonymously at 07:19, Fri 12 March 2021
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 2603009.
Drain by the level crossing seems to be blocked or is insufficient, pavement on opposite side of road to our house is dangerous due to fear of being drenched by a vehicle that does not know about flooding if coming fast off the Portway and lights are green. This is happening each time it rains heavily but needs to be investigated as there have been some near miss collisions this morning

Flooding still remains despite all my reports. This morning it is a very large and long flood, going right around the corner. Pedestrians have to run to avoid the traffic splashing them. While I can do so it is evident that the elderly and disabled will be getting wet.

It’s incredible how difficult it seems to be to stick a spade and/or a suction pipe into a drain and clear it😂. I had to ride past this today-it’s impossible to walk across the pedestrian crossing because the water is ankle-deep. It’s hugely dangerous for cyclists coming into town, who have two ride in the middle of the carriageway, right the way round the corner. I’m sure it will be fixed, but probably only when someone is seriously injured or killed as a result of it. Then we residents will have to fund the city council’s defence of the resulting personal injury claim😱
