Light shining into house

I wonder if it might be possible to pop a cover or screen on the existing street lamp to direct the light downwards and sideways, so the back alley remains lit but it stops the light pollution into the rear of our home? It's an exceedingly bright light and while we appreciate the feeling of safety it provides anyone using the alleyway after dark, more appropriate directionality away from our windows would be greatly appreciated.
