Pride colour zebra crossings

Reported via mobile in the Road Signage category anonymously at 19:57, Tuesday 27 April 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Legislation states Zebra crossing is to be painted alternate black and white. Legislation also states only White, Yellow and Red paint ca be used on road markings. If painted any other colours, the zebra crossing is no longer such, and any enforceable legislation is void, unless the council has secured a variation in law. As such, any protection afforded to pedestrian users is invalid. Should an accident occur on the crossing painted other than black/white, there is no legal recourse for any injured parties. In the cause of public safety, I urge you not to change the colour of the pedestrian crossing/zebra crossing. In fact, I oppose it.
