Japanese knot weed growing in High Kingsdown

Reported via mobile in the General Highways Enquiry category anonymously at 22:57, Tue 4 May 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Japanese knot weed growing in High Kingsdown. There is some Japanese knot weed in the flowerbed where the marker is pointing on the map. The bit you can see is sticking out of the pavement as you approach the flowerbed. Volunteers pulled up some more plants inside the flowerbed without knowing what it was. The leaves of the plant are Being drowned in a container of water with a lid on… And will continue to be drowned until they turn to sludge. The area is shady, so the Japanese knot weed is not growing very fast. But apparently there were two or three systems and there is still one sticking out of paving as explained about above. We will keep an eye on it (the weeding team) and keep you informed But hope it can be dealt with when it’s grown a bit more…. Thanks
