Disabled bay needs re-positioning (when markings are renewed.)

Reported via desktop in the Road Signage category anonymously at 17:23, Fri 4 June 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

The disabled bay outside #14 Kings Drive ends about 3 metres before the driveway to #12; as a result, sometimes cars are parked encroaching on the disabled bay to avoid the driveway. The resident for whom the bay is provided has had to resort to parking partly outside the bay to prevent this see photo.) They have asked me to request that, when the road is re-marked, the bay is positioned nearer to 12 (see photo with a rule placed where it could end.) This would release more parking space by 16, and the user of the bay would be able to reverse across the driveway at 12 to get out.

  • This photo taken today demonstrates the problem. The red estate car has been parked with front wheels on the line of the disabled bay (and front intruding into the bay) in order to keep clear of the driveway behind it. On this occasion when the disabled driver returned in their car, they were fortunate that there was space beyond the bayfor them to park. Moving the disabled bay to where the red estate was would obviate this problem.
