Stupid parking

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 17:05, Wed 19 September 2012

Sent to Bristol City Council 5 minutes later

Today i visited a friend of mine who lives in durville road in headley park bristol, on leaving his property i was stopped from driving any further due to two vehicles parked opposite each other on the narrow road, it wasnt big enough to get a smart car through let alone anything bigger. i thought it was just somebody dropping off something but after a minute or so i blew my horn, nothing happened so blew my horn for a longer period, eventually i got fed up with waiting and tried to reverse and do a 3 point turn, on doing this a lady came out of her house and told me that her neighbour will not park his car anywhere else and that she had parked her car (the red one ) at eight am when nothing else was parked on the road and when her neighbour had come home he had parked opposite her effectively blocking the road. surely this is illegal as a fire engine or ambulance would not get through in an emergency. i think the man has a drive way which he obviously didnt use.

  • You wont need to worry about a Fire Engine getting through. They will Drive Fire Engine through between both parked cars. Which will of course badly damage both parked cars and Fire engine.. A bill for damage to Fire Engine will be sent to both owners of illegally parked cars. Which they will have to pay out of their own pockets. Insurance Companies will not pay out. And will affect their no claims discounts. As Vehicles where Parked Illegally. Then their are the criminal charges which will be brought against them. Lawyers fees, Criminal records etc. Maybe even Prison if it could be proven delay caused someone trapped in a House Fire to Die. By Illegal parking. Delaying fire engine. But stupid people like these don't believe this will ever happen.
