Obstructed visibility for traffic entering the roundabout.

Reported via desktop in the Obstruction category anonymously at 11:40, Thu 17 June 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Here we are again, third time I have had to complain about this. Overgrown landscape vegetation obstructing visibility at the entry to the roundabout. I reported this issue on 29/5/2018 and included references to what the highway design standards require with respect to visibility to the right for drivers entering a roundabout. On 18/6/2020 I complained again, and included a suggestion as to how you could prevent the problem reoccurring, if not for ever then at least for some years. On both occasions this was ignored. In the past you have (eventually) just cut it down by the bare minimum amount and now the vegetation has again grown (as it does every year, surprise!) and is again causing a problem. It needs to be cut as a matter of urgency (Think cat 1 defect) and it needs to be taken down to ground level, not just to the top of the VRS.

  • Very dangerous overhanging vegetation, can't see traffic or scooters without pulling forward onto roundabout. This might not be a problem for vans or lorries, however I drive a standard car.
