Reported via desktop in the General Highways Enquiry category anonymously at 16:36, Mon 5 July 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Stem of high speed camera left in centre of highway for nearly 2 years. Many requests to arrange for stem to be picked up and scrapped have failed .Basically no one has taken any action. It would take less than 20 minute to remove the stem .What is so difficult???? Why no action taken? Why so many tams appointed to review but no one takes any action .Every day thousands of motorists drive past the hazards and you seem content to let it remain.

  • Absolutely nothing has been done to clear the road safety issue in nearly 2 years. Can BCC explain why they have not sorted this matter out which would take less than 30 minutes for a vehicle and grab to pick up the scrapped speed camera stem left in the middle of the road. every body sees it every day as they drive on the A4 but nobody is doing anything about it . Is there a reason why nothing has been done if so please do explain it.

  • Several people have raised this over the last 3 or 4 years, this was mine from Oct 2020. Others can be seen in the closed section. Please can this unsightly piece of scrap metal be removed?

One of the two speed cameras on the A4 Portway, located between Valerian Close and Woodwell Road on the outbound carriageway came down a number of years ago and the mounting pole remains abandoned on the central reservation with a large peice of orange fence tied to it. if memory serves correct then this has been in this state for around five years. Please could the pole and fence be removed or maybe even re-instate the camera?
