Drain keeps overflowing and there is virtually no clearance. Looks like it might be beginning to collapse

Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 11:20, Thu 15 July 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

This drain is adjacent to my house (no 1) and at the top of the hill on Dowry Rd. So when it rains, the run off ( which is significant) is now undermining the wall at my front door. the drain looks like it may be collapsing ( there is a brick pushing out) and there is insufficient height on the pavement to keep the run off in the road rather than cutting past my front door.

We have cleared 2 bags of soil and other debris from the run in to the drain today as a short term mitigation but it does need to be mended / improved.

  • This work is now becoming urgent as the leaves are down on the trees overhanging Cornwallis Avenue and the next heavy rain will block the drain again and the overrun will once again be damaging my wall.

Please can you update when this work is scheduled to take place. The problem was reported in July and accepted for repair on 6 September
