Since moving into Coombe Bridge Avenue in 2005 I have tackled the problem of gravel washing down onto Bell Barn Road from Cheyne Road after heavy rainstorms by brushing the gravel off the main road back onto Cheyne.

However, as the state of the unmade surface of Cheyne Road has deteriorated over the years this problem has become progressively worse and has reached a pitch, following the recent heavy rain this week when serious amounts of stones and gravel have been washed down onto Bell Barn Road and now cover not only the section at the end of Cheyne Road but extend right across Bell Barn Road to the opposite side near Coombe Bridge Avenue putting cars, cyclists and motorcyclists at peril.

Sweeping will only be a temporary solution and I am asking BCC for the second or third time to intervene and make representation to the residents or Residents' Association of Cheyne, if such a body exists, to take co-operative action and institute repairs to the bottom 70 metre section of the road adjoining Bell Barn Road to resolve the problem and avoid future recurrence.
