Severely damaged pavement

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 08:46, Mon 23 August 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

The pavement has been severely damaged, and is now dangerous to walk on, particularly for the elderly people who live next to the damaged pavement and nearby. It is important to fix this quickly, as it is a trip hazard that could lead to severe injuries - such as broken hips - in elderly neighbours.

Updates

  • A new enquiry has been raised for this issue.

  • As can be seen in the photographs a large vehicle (JCB Fork Truck has run over the pavement causing further damage to the pavement adjacent to Nos. 2,4 and 6 Filton Grove. Part of the damaged section of pavement is over a gas pipe. As said previously, due to the housing development on the opposite side of the road this is the only pavement available to pedestrians. The previous person to report this is issue is correct in that there are elderly residents living by and close to the damaged pavement which in my opinion is in a condition which does constitute a serious trip hazard to pedestrians..

  • There is still substantial damage to the pavement in this location - meaning half the pavement is unusable, and therefore impossible for buggies, wheelchairs etc. This was reported months ago - why has no action been taken?
