Broken bottles and fire damage at seating area

Reported via desktop in the Parks/landscapes category anonymously at 20:25, Wed 25 August 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

For months on Saturday mornings, we have found multiple broken alcohol bottles (and other litter) by the seats next to the steps in Brandon Hill that go from the circular walk up to the toilets. There is also a lot of ash etc from regular fires.

We clear bigger pieces up but it's spread over a large area. People use this area to walk their dogs and play with their kids, so there is a notable health risk.

Updates

  • No change to the problem - still broken glass bottles and other litter left around by people overnight, plus remnants of fires. Possibly even worse than before because the dertitus is building up, and on the last visit, someone had tried to set fire to a large tree branch (see photo)... unsuccessfully, so they need to swot up on their Ray Mears skills.
