My name is Elliot Hyde and I live at 2 Coleridge Road, Bristol, BS5 6SR.
I am emailing you in the hope you may be able to provide some assistance to an ongoing issue I have had at my property since I moved in in June 2020 and more intensely since the easing of lockdown in July 2021.
I live next door to the Hosseinieh Foundation Daryl Imaan Mosque and since we arrived in June 2020 there has been ongoing building work all the way up to their reopening after lockdown. This is completely fine and I have no issue with this. The issue has been the access to my driveway at the side of my house. The builders blocked this for most of the year and I would need to continually ask them to move their maintenance vans so I could get in and out. To be honest this was also fine and I was patient and understanding that they needed to do the work.
What the problem now is, is that the mosque is now open and the owner continually parks his car outside it blocking our drive access and my partner is a nurse who needs to get in and out. We have asked him many times politely to not park there and he just says yes I won’t, moves the car and then does it again the next day. This has been a problem and we have asked him dozens and dozens of times but nothing has changed. The biggest problem is however that now the mosque is open, worshippers who attend every night and throughout the day, park up to two cars behind my parked car on my drive, so I can’t even go and ask them to move as I don’t know who’s car it is and I don’t want to interrupt their worship.
I am sorry for the long email it’s just me and my partner have put up with this for over a year now and there is just no respect towards our polite promoting to the mosque’s owner, who carries on parking there and allows his associates to do so as well!
In short I would be very grateful if you could assist with the following:
1. Send a letter and speak to the mosque owner to voice our concerns as we haven’t been listened to and ask him and whoever attends the mosque to not park outside the mosque on the road and also behind our driveway.
2. Insert bollards which would prevent them from parking here.
Many thanks again for reading this and any help is much appreciated.
I have included some photos to try and explain things better. The blue Ford Fiesta at the front is mine and I can’t get it out as the two behind are visiting the mosque. This happens every day. If I do get the car out I can’t get back on to my drive.
