Loose drain

Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 21:55, Thursday 2 September 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

I live on this main road and the drain is making a awful noise every time a car/bus/lorry drives over it. With the weather being warm I have to sleep with my window open and the noise is every couple of seconds. After a very sleepless week I would like to report this to fixed ASAP.

  • I would like to add my support to this issue. It is on the outbound side of the road just by Bathwell Road. I live a few houses down on Bathwell Road and it makes an awful sound every time a car or lorry drives over it - this is affecting my sleep too.

  • I raised this with the local green councillor and Bristol City Council highways department got back to me to inform me it is BT's responsibility.

Having referred this 3 times to BT openreach, the first 2 times a job was closed as it was deemed non dangerous. Aan engineer finally rang me today to say a job has been raised as there is a danger the manhole could collapse in Winter under repeated weight of the HGV's.

  • BT engineer said a job has been raised....No idea of when it will be fixed.. They manhole has been marked and it will likely be a big job requiring traffic lights .Perhaps trying pestering BT openreach damage line 0800 023 2023 (option 1) quote reference SS1FKK55. I will keep calling engineer weekly. We may have to contact local media...
