Dangerous road and crossing

Reported via mobile in the Obstruction category anonymously at 14:55, Sun 12 September 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

The recently install pedestrian and cycle crossing has turned what used to be a safe stretch of road into a deathtrap. Prior to the crossing cars parked on one side of the road only, which kept this busy road open to two flows 9f traffic. The new crossing haas removed a lot of parking spaces, so cars now park on both sides which reduces it to single file traffic. To make matters worse there is significant hummock in the road at this point (much like the brow of a hill) which means that approaching cars cannot see how the single file stretch extends and if any traffic is already coming the other way. The restriction causes traffic to tail back, often blocking the very crossing that is causing the issue. I have seen many near misses here, both car on car and car on pedestrian. It is only a matter of time before there is a significant accident there.

The crossing should be removed (it should never have been put there with the close proximity of the hump in the road, and side road crossing, the parking situation and the fact that another crossing is just 50 yards away.

Either remove the crossing or make one side of the road completely double yellow lines.
