Dangerous Cliff Face

Reported by Richard Irwin at 10:02, Sun 23 December 2012

Sent to Bristol City Council 2 minutes later

This week has seen the small red clay cliff face on Frenchay Park Road in part collapse in to the road twice. This evening while returning home the road was blocked by the second collapse which was no wider than five feet but the clay stones were as big as large rockery stones and they went half way in to the road. I called the Police and tried to slow traffic down until the Police arrived while witnessing two almost head-on-collisions while on the phone to the police. Cars were racing up the hill and swerving in to the path of on coming traffic when drivers didn't have time to stop. One car even went through the rocks with minimum damage and kept going.

I'm sharing this email with you in case next time the worst scenario happens and to see whether Bristol Council should look at stablising this cliff with metal wire similar to what's used in all other places i.e. the same as this image http://www.pelhamweekly.com/ images/ fs_1687.jpg

The rain has made these cliff faces very unstable on to a very busy road.
