Slurry Seal work - v poor communication with residents

Reported via desktop in the Pavement Defect category anonymously at 11:05, Mon 18 October 2021

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3068844.

Our pavement, south side of Wardour Road outside 1,3,5,7,9 etc between Cowdray Road & Carisbrooke Road has been notified twice of imminent slurry seal work by letter. First time they got as far as taping (on bin day so it wasn't done properly - they missed some ironwork outside my house which was under a bin) but then they took tape away and left. Clearly they hadn't known it was bin day so gave up. Second time we got a letter advising visit within 48 hours but it never happened - no taping, nothing, just cones for a day or sowhich then disappeared. Then today at least a week after the 2nd letter they just turned up, by the time I saw them they were on the job and we were effectively trapped without notice. The ORGANISATION of this job has been very poor with almost no consideration given to residents needing to get out on foot or car and needing proper notice of when the work is being done. We were told twice, "Within 48 hours" then when they finally came it was out the blue. Not good enough, I hope they aren't being paid their full fee.
