  • Some workmen spent 2 days working on this light and dug up the pavement beside it. They have filled in the hole and replaced the paving slabs but they are not cemented in properly and are already loose. The light still does not work.

  • Dear BCC The workmen who did this work told me, I a resident up the road at number 11 Walton Rise, that they encountered cables which are needing attention by either or both WPD and or British Gas, they believed. I am very sure that they came with all good faith and efforts, to replace update both of the street lights in the road which were unusually old for the city I think. So one thinks wisely were trying to do both at once. They did the other one which was working but very dated, thank you. But... The young workman, in the van with the extendable arm to raise up for colleague to work on the actual lamp, to whom I spoke & was very pleasant polite and helpful and seemed to be able to immediately tell me that the problem they had encountered were other cables obstructing or making it hazardous to work on the street lamp cables. I hope that they have reported that now to your good selves in the Council and in simple routine as it is in other similar situs around the city am sure is so, you can send an order to who ever needs to "cap off" or etc the other cable/s, before the street light engineers can finish their good work. Thanks very much . Thanks! I told the workman that this is a road which has truly dark! corners without that lamp working and there are both children and the elderly who live here. I trust hope that the good work begun can be finished off with good speed now, thanks ?. Yes, one also indeed does not want folk tripping into any partially done work hazards now left there.! Or other things which are hard to observe in the dark areas left without the lamp working. Now been out of action for msybe actually 8 weeks or more or notably more even, I wonder. A long time now anyway. Children live day in day out around the corner there.
