There is a problem with people rat running and driving fast through the cemetery to cut out the junction of Beaufort Road and Blackswarth Road. Can you please look at partially shutting the Blackswarth Road gate to stop cars rat running but allow pedestrians and cycles to access the cemetery at this location? This is a main route for children traveling to St Patricks and Redfield Educate Together schools and there is conflict between pedestrians and cars. There have been 3 incidents to my knowledge in the past month which are being investigated by the police. These all involved a car driving aggressively through the cemetery shouting abuse at children cycling there on the way home from school. They were not visiting the cemetery but cutting through to avoid traffic at the junction. Limiting through access will create a better community space and mean children can use the space safely. There are plans to improve Beaufort Road but these are a away off and plans to implement a liveable neighbourhood but also a few years off. This would provide a great temporary solution. Thank you.
