Blocked road gulley outside front door
Reported via mobile in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 19:49, Fri 24 December 2021
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3198168.
In the heavy rains of the afternoon and early evening of 24th December the road gully blocked and overflowed very close to the front door of our property 30 Wellington Park. This also happened two weeks ago and half a dozen times over the last five years. This drain needs to be cleared and replaced with a system Sufficient for the quantity of water flowing into it. Around the time the road was re-Surfaced in about 2018 the drain was highlighted with yellow crosses indicating that further work was required. The road was resurfaced covering up the yellow markers and no further action was taken. The high levels of water by our front door have caused water ingress into our cellar and we will make representations to our local councillor if appropriate works or not scheduled and undertaken in the next 12 months. In the meantime please could you come and unblock it as heavy rain is forecast. I am fed up with having to sweep the water away from the block drain so that it can drain away in the gulley on the other side of the road . Thank you

Hello the photograph above shows the situation with the drain on 6 January to date as far as I am aware nothing has been done in terms of unblocking the drain or even acknowledging the complaints that we have made already please can you advise us when the drain will be unblocked and further long-term action will be taken I will be writing to my counsellor about this as well thank you

This is the view out of our front door at 11:30 am on Saturday 8 January. We continue to wait very patiently for the arrival of the highway team. Given the close proximity of the drain to our front door I do wonder about the other higher priorities that the team have

Hello this was the view from my front door at 30 Wellington Park at 7:15 this morning the 4th of February I have been told by the councillor Tom Hathaway that we are on your 28 day turnaround list this really isn’t good enough someone needs to come along and clear this drain and put in place a more future proof plan to ensure that this water drains away and the drain is sufficient to handle the levels of rainfall this is simply not just a case of climate change and greater flooding it is a case of this drain not being fit for purpose thank you
