Rene Road Street Light No. 1 is intermittent

Reported via desktop in the Street Light category by Robin Beecroft at 03:56, Wed 5 January 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Usually, the light works, but every few days, it goes off for a spell of time – about an hour or so – then comes on again. It is clearly in need of attention as this is not usual. Thank you for your attention to this issue.

  • This job was raised on 5 January and want you to know that I have made a formal complaint to the Council (Ref:24212516) that it has not received any attention. This light was intermittent when I reported it. It has deteriorated week-by-week and is completely unlit now due to the lack of attention. I have outlined this in my complaint. In the same complaint, I have also pointed out the absence of attention to Light 1 in Britannia Road, Light 1 in High Street Easton, and Light 4 on St Mark's Road. I urge you to pay urgent attention to each of these. I will be monitoring progress in each case.

  • On Monday, I reported that this light was unlit completely rather than intermittent. For four nights, this was the case, but for the last two nights, it has returned to being intermittent. Perhaps the high winds exacerbated the fault? I do not know. Clearly, there is still a fault, but it may not be clear what it is as the light does work from time to time.

  • Three jobs have been raised for this light, on 5 January, 23 February and 25 February and yet no action has been taken on any of them. As I write this, the light is unlit and Rene Road does not feel as if it is a safe space as there is only one other light in the whole street, far away at the other end. I ask that you ensure that one of the three jobs you have raised receives due attention as a priority rather than you raising a fourth job with your contractor.
