Illegal parking on path

Drivers are increasingly encroaching on to the path and causing an obstruction and danger at a busy four point junction used by pedestrians and bikes.

  • They park on the path every weekday. There’s actually a barrier already in place to stop this happening - but which has been left open. It’s a really quick fix to get someone to come and close it. :)

  • They do it everyday. There’s a metal gate that’s been left open by a contractor. All you need to do is come close it. They’re gone by tea time so could do it then or early in the morning.

  • If you give them an inch they take a mile. Everyday they put more and more of their car on the footpath and othered follow. One entitled driver, 400 people on foot or bikes understanding they come a clear second to cars. Why not ticket them? It’s such an easy fix - just close the existing barrier which stops cars but not active travel. Also any updates from you at all? Is there any point to this portal?
