No cul-de-sac sinage

Reported via mobile in the Road Signage category anonymously at 16:36, Wed 9 February 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3301126.

No sinage to advise drivers this road is a cul-de-sac resulting in a high volume of traffic thinking there is a way out. This has been worse recently with the “car meets” on Sunday evenings in Tesco (Brislington) car park. There used to be a traffic sign and the symbol on the street name plate, both have been removed/missing for a long time.

  • Still no cul-de-sac/no through rd sinage. This name plate has been taken down for building work & put back up again exactly the same. Numerous vehicles & pedestrians are entering the road thinking they can get out at the other end only they can’t.

  • This was reported a year ago and nothing has changed? Is this still an open report or has it been closed off just so it’s not failing a statistical report?

  • 2 years on from posting this report & no change to the road sign. All other cul-de-sac’s in the immediate area have the correct signs yet Gotley Road doesn’t. Cyclists, pedestrians & motorists are regularly getting lost/confused because they have no idea this is a no through road. Is it really that difficult to replace 2 road signs?

  • As you can clearly see from your map above Gotley Rd is a cul-de-sac, all of the near “no through reds, Homemead Drive, Glen Lane etc have appropriate sinage, why has Gotley Rd been excluded? Almost every day a vehicle or pedestrian enters the road thinking there’s a way out. Please get this problem resolved, reported over 2 years ago.
