Old trees causing damage to Curbs and houses

Reported via mobile in the Trees category anonymously at 13:15, Mon 28 February 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

I’ve reported this twice before and nothing has been done to prevent further damage. The old tress which are located near the public parking space at the side of 34 Leaholme Gardens have cause huge cracks on the pavement from roots that go right through to the garden of the house. There’s every chance the roots are going underneath the house and could cause subsidence… there are also sporadic shoots of new trees appearing on the cracks of the pavement right next to the house. This needs fixing. The trees need to come down. The cracks are also trip hazard they go all the way along the long pavement.

  • You came and marked an area around the issue a few weeks ago, as it happens I’m in the middle of a rear extension and you can see from the pics my builder took when digging our new foundations that the roots are absolutely massive and going right under our house. The area you’ve marked off is just a small piece of the problem. Please make sure this is not just a resurface job… the pavement has to be dug up and the roots destroyed.
