Hedge overgrowing pavement 3226177
Reported via desktop in the Obstruction category anonymously at 15:20, Mon 28 February 2022
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later
Hedge has been partially blocking pavement for a considerable time , it is so high it obscures the first floor windows. BUT the problem is that the privet takes up more than halve the width of the pavement. Reported 9th Jan! action was said to be in process, letter to householder, 28 days given for response. Obviously no response, what is the next action in the process? This, 515 Gloucester Road is not an isolated example , other properties have been identified and reported as having overgrown hedges. Nos 513, 509, and 505 all offend. No 495 has dangerous plant with spiky leaves at child head height. Very busy route for parents walking children to school!!!!!!!!!!!

What a result. At long last some action has been taken. Inspired it is not. The height of the hedge has been reduced BUT THE PAVEMENT IS STILL ONLY HALF THE WIDTH IT SHOUD BE! What was in the letter sent to the householder? Who cut the hedge, it is a neat professional looking job and the cuttings were cleared away? BUT HOW WAS IT POSSIBLE TO IGNORE THE REAL PROBLEM,,,,, THE BLOCKING OF THE PAVEMENT.
