The street light on the corner is not working. The corner is in complete darkness which is obviously not safe and therefore a hazard. The light needs to be fixed asap.

Reported via desktop in the Street Light category anonymously at 22:21, Fri 1 April 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

The street light on the corner is not working. The corner is in complete darkness so cars coming down or up the road are not aware of where the bend in the road is or where the parked cars are. This makes it a dangerous hazard and needs to be fixed asap.

SIMILARLY THE STREET LIGHT ON THE JUNCTION OF JULIUS AND BERKSHIRE ROAD DOES NOT ILLUMINATE AT ALL. I WONDER WHN ACTION WILL BE TAKEN TO EFFECT THE REPAIRS?

  • It is has now been over a month since the broken street light outside 2 Julius Rd was reported. The street light in Berkshire Rd is also broken. How much longer will it be before both of these lights are fixed and this area is not in total darkness at night?!

  • Another night of Julius Rd being in almost total darkness! I suppose the problem was only reported at the beginning of April and it’s now coming up to mid May! Berkshire Rd is also very dark. Is anyone ever going to do anything about this?!

  • The street light outside 2 Julius Road is still not working correctly with no night time illumination. The problem started at the beginning of April 2022 and the lack of action is deplorable.

Also, the street light at the junction of Julius Road and Berkshire Road is also not illuminating at night and has not been repaired.

  • It is absolutely ridiculous that the street light on the corner of Julius Rd has still not been repaired! Remind me why we pay council tax?! The problem was first reported at the beginning of April and it’s nearly June. What the contractors actually doing that they’re not able to come and repair a broken street light that has been reported as a danger by several of us?

  • Today 24.5.22. Contractors worked on this street light yesterday. However the light did not illuminate during the folowing hours of darkness and how long will it be before another attempt is made to repair the fault? In the meantime I wonder how much Bristol ratepayers money has been wasted with the visit of no less than 3 contractors bright yellow vans?

  • Now 2 months since the original report of the street light fault and request for it to be repaired. I wonder when this will hapen as contractors have already failed once to get this light working despite 3 smart new vans in the street. It would even be nice to feel someone was even bothering!

  • 10.6.22 and despite being told again that this failed street light has been repaired, it still does not illuminate during the hours of darkness. Once again, what does one need to do in order to get this fault rectified as this 'Fix My Street' forum has little influence over the management in Bristol Council or their sub-contractors.
