School pick-up parking on pavements and double yellow lines

Reported via mobile in the Car parking category anonymously at 14:45, Tue 26 April 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Every day this is a problem at drop-off and particularly pick-up times. Parents parking on pavements, often so close to the wall that one has to turn side ways to get by. Parents parking on double yellow lines especially outside the school. It’s impossible for children and adults to distance or to avoid taking to the road where there’s moving traffic. It’s usually the same people who park in this manner. Parents who live nearby but can’t be bothered to park at home and walk. Parents who have busy lives and rush from work but can’t find an five extra minutes to park a couple of streets away - every day. So long as they’re safely in their cars… This has been reported before. The Council do nothing. No parking officers. No community officers. The school do nothing, don’t even mention this selfish and dangerous behaviour in their newsletter.
