Potholes and cracked/depressed surfaces on much of South side of the road

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway Defect category by David Stretch at 13:10, Sun 22 May 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

Photo 3395 shows a pothole, of about 40x25x3cm, approximately outside no 2. Photos 3398 & 3399 are at the extreme West end of the road where there are no houses fronting the road. 3398 shows the significant hole (about 5cm deep) and 3399 shows the same area but with a longer view indicating that the whole area is in a state of disrepair, showing depressions and cracks. I think that the whole road needs to be examined, but that specific area is about a metre long.

Both of these holes have been there for about 6 months and they are causing some concern as regards car damage. Apart from potential damage to the vehicle falling into the potholes, which are difficult to avoid, the jerk in the steering could propel the vehicle into parked vehicles on the North side of the (fairly narrow) road.

I think that repairs were made (specifically to the area outside no. 2) some time ago – perhaps some 3 years ago and it may be that those repairs weren’t sufficiently robust.

I noticed that when I entered the post code (BS9 4PJ) the system didn’t respond with an address; the road to which I’m referring is East Croft, Henleaze.

East croft is approached via Cransley Crescent, and I see that Cransley Crescent has been marked up for repairs, presumably in the near future. This may be an opportune time to add East Croft to those planned works.
