A38 between Northville Road and Toronto Road road surface around drain covers bumpy/sunk
Reported via desktop in the Gully/Drainage category anonymously at 08:28, Sat 28 May 2022
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later
Many of the drain covers along the A38 have sunken in the ground creating potholes, often bumpy and can cause serious damage to cars travelling over them. There are quite a few of these with issues between this part of the A38 especially on the northbound side, I've even seen cars swerve the wrong side of the road to try and avoid these which obviously is risky, this needs to be urgently looks into before an accident occurrs. I don't konw whether it quite counts as SG or Bristol Council area but near the border between the 2 Thank you

The issue is mainly along the northbound side of this stretch, I am talking specifically about a few drain covers in that area that have somewhat sunk into the road surface creating a "bumpy ride" enough that they are quite brutal, the worst ones as I said on the northbound side as the road curves round.

Hope this helps (red circled) what I am specifically on about! Effectively sink holes surrounding the drain covers creating potholes.
Thank you

Still open, via questionnaire, 08:35, Sat 25 June 2022

Still not been fixed inspite of sending pics pointing out details of some of the drain sinkholes within the carriageway, especially the northbound.
Dangerous as it either causes severe damage to cars that hit them or results in cars swerving dangerously towards the NS kerb or even into the opposing side oncoming traffic.
It's a busy road and many of these are on bends so not easy to notice until the last moment.

We've referred the issue externally for appropriate action to be taken, as it's not something Bristol City Council is responsible for.
