Missing manhole cover
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later
Someone has stolen a manhole cover, which was in place to prevent people accessing a void under the footbridge to Temple Island. The drop to the void is approximately 20ft and should a child or anyone else fall into this void they would be severely injured or killed as a result. The what 3 words location is ///patrol.alone.bunks. This area is unlit at night and poses a significant hazard.

A new enquiry has been raised for this issue.

The second manhole cover has now been stolen, leaving an even bigger hole for people to fall into and sue the council for not fixing it and the injuries the received as a result.

A citizen has provided a follow-up to the original enquiry.

A temporary barrier and plastic cover was installed however with a couple of days these were thrown into the river, leaving the hole and considerable drop exposed again.
On the plus side, a ladder has been placed into the hole and there is now a homeless person living down there.

Replacement temporary cover has disappeared, ladder still in situ and the void beneath the bridge is now being used by youths to smoke cannabis in.
Come on Bristol City Council, do something useful for a change and replace the manhole covers to this death trap!
