Poor Quality Road Resurfacing

Reported via desktop in the Carriageway Defect category anonymously at 21:36, Wed 1 June 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3567541.

The road was resurfaced with tarmac two weeks ago for the repairs that were required.

Two weeks later, further tarmac was applied, with surface dressing applied. The finishing is incomplete with the damaged edges being completely ignored.

Surface dressing is also not a practical solution for this road as it is a 1-way street in practice with no entry from the Southmead Road, with a protruding pavement at the junction. As such, the surface dressing will not effectively be distributed across the road. As you can see from the photos, the gravel is completely piled up in the protrusion, and the road is already on two different levels due to the configuration of the street.

This is the third time this year that the road has been worked on with the surface dressing leaving it a mess. Surface dressing is widely known as the 'cheap' approach to road maintenance and the finished product on the road is evidence of that.

Can the road please be given the attention required to bring it up to standard - especially in conjunction with the proposed works / bus lane that is coming.
