Someone has put up their own sign saying "The Yard, Private Road". This is not the case. Its an adopted lane. Can this be removed?

  • Reported that sign says The Yard - Private Road , when it is a public right of way, can the sign be removed as this is not correct , the access lane is a public road, mainted by BCC with street light etc,

  • Please remove this sign as it gives the impression the lane is a private road. This is not the case, the lane that goes from Gloucester Road through to the top of Wellington Hill opposite Hunts Lane is a public footpath & right of way. It has been a council adopted highway since the 1930’s and in regular use by the public. It is regularly cleaned of debris and has a lamp post at the crossroads I’m the middle of the lane. This sign which was put up on 22/06/22 will give the impression to pedestrians that it’s private Road and a prohibited area which is not the case.
