Foliage stopping view

Reported via desktop in the Growth from base of tree category anonymously at 22:46, Sat 25 June 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3623387.

Can I bring to your attention the hazard at the bottom of Smyth Road, leading onto Winterstoke Road - The overgrown foliage of the trees is obscuring the vision of the oncoming traffic when trying to leave the junction from Smyth road, you must stay back from the give way lines in attempt to try and notice cars indicators turning left through the slight gaps in the trees - as the foliage creeps too far out into the road to look down the road instead from the give way lines - this is a massive issue and creates a lot of issues for drivers.

The cars parking extremely close to the junction [corner] also acts as a hazard as they block the vision even more so for drivers. The issued yellow lines on the road prevent none of this illegal parking happening, as they are not properly enforced. This also means that when entering the junction onto Smyth road, you must pull straight in on the left behind the parked cars, to check for oncoming vehicles, as not all drivers give way to one another and you cannot see up the road for if they’re coming towards you or not.
