Double yellow line length

Reported via desktop in the Road signage category by David Parsons at 10:18, Tue 28 June 2022

Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later

A few months ago I received a parking fine at 8.30 in the evening; being on double yellow lines whilst unloading my gear to the Second Floor Flat, 205 Redland Road. The PCN people directed me to the Bristol Council Highways & Traffic Department and then replied that I should send my enquiry on to https://www.bristol.gov.uk/ report-a-street-issue.with the following Issue: At the time of painting the permit zone lines on Redland Road, "the powers that be" extended the double yellow lines in front of 205 Redland Road on the corner with Blenheim Road, previously there was a space for three vehicles, even with inconsiderate neighbours. Now it is impossible to park three midsized cars in the allocated space in front of the property. I have a photo taken from my flat but I can't up load it; even if vehicle owners were very considerate it would be difficult to get a third vehicle in that space. On the other corner going towards the Downs the distance is appreciably shorter, so why is there a difference and what is the standard distance in the regulations? Is there any chance of reducing the yellow line on the corner by at least a meter to get back to what it was before the zones were allocated and the yellow lines painted; after all there is precedent!
