Slippery pavement
Reported via mobile anonymously at 15:21, Thu 30 June 2022
Sent to Bristol City Council less than a minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 3637281.
A lot of leaf fall. Pavement covered with leaves. Also drainage blocked. Runoff all the way from Bobby’s Green to Hensman’s Hill needs clearing. Can we of pavement makes us especially bad when wet.

Just add water. Large amounts of glass bottles & cans are left on wall by Voi scooters. Try & pick up but it’s every day. They’re left there by riders before setting off. Entire length of rubberised(?) black path needs roadside edge cleaning as well. Leaf fall is becoming compost, & weeds are growing into path surface. It’s just surface detritus. Please schedule into regular street sweeping.

I’ve swept this, but it builds up & already needs clearing along with the buildup along the Green. Trees need pruning - overhanging trees are at eye level.

Saying not fixed as I’ve done your job.

Until you actually clean this pavement & the path that runs along Bobby’s Green, along with the huge amounts of rotting leaf mold that fills the road alongside it; won’t consider it ‘fixed’. Should be on the street cleaning rota to stay ontop of it.

Entire length of the green still needs sorting. Road side of rails is still full of 2 yrs + leaf & rubbish detritus. Too much for me. Needs proper Street cleaning every year.

Reporting as not fixed as I have had to sweep, drain clear, gutter sweep & prune low branches which were at below eye level & therefore a health & safety risk to pedestrians. No attempt by Council to sweep large leaf fall along Clifton Hill/Lower Clifton Hill behind & alongside ‘Bobby’s Green’. No attempt to remove compressed & when wet, compressed leaf fall on rubberised path.

Classing this as not fixed as I am having to clear this every few weeks. Does not appear to have been added to street cleaning rota, which is odd as cleaners make effort nearby. Please add. The camber of this pavement up to Hensman’s Hill is dangerous when wet & leaf covered.

Still not on a rota. Gullies & path fill with leaves. Slippery all year. Looks bad. Why can’t this be on the street cleaning rota? It’s just past Hensman’s Hill. Also builds up around where VOI scooters are parked - bottles, cans etc.

After several months of clearing this myself I had hoped it would be added to the rota, but no joy & it’s now full of leaf fall from the huge home oak above. I did see someone slip on the leaves, but as a limb wasn’t broken I can only assume you’re not bothered.

Not touched. Seen tourists slip on this. Please get it swept. Pavement & gullies along same side of ‘’Bobby’s Green’. The grassyy bit. As you can see it floods, the water is trapped by heavy leaf fall combined with rotting material in gutters.

Not touched. Infact worse as compacted leaves continue to build up. Also no drainage across path so pools. Have seen someone go over in last week. No attempt to clean x2 grates. Completely blocked. No attempt to sweet 3yrs + leaves along grass boundary wall. Tree saplings growing. Photos taken last week.

Partial. Gully by rod swept - thanks. But part leading to Emmaus House not. Street cleaners say it’s parks job. Parks say it’s road sweepers. Meanwhile path is slippery. Water doesn’t drain.

No one appears interested in taking responsibility. Good luck when someone breaks their hip & sues the Council for negligence. It’s 20mins work on the rota! Currently a sludge of leaves, sticks & water. Blocked drain cover & buildup along railings.

Yet again I’ve dug up the 2 years worth of compost, rubbish & gravel that have blocked both drains & left the path slippery & a hazard. Parks claim it’s Street Cleaning & Street Cleaning claim it’s Parks. Either way it never gets done. So rather than having the possibility of a claim against the Council for unsafe pavements, or the embarrassment of watching tourists trying to avoid the sludge I spent my time doing your job. And yes, it already needs redoing, but without the 20cm of compressed organic material. Should be easy to stay ontop of - you’d think.

No one has taken responsibility for either the pavement or the runoff. I’ve yet again cleared the 2 drain covers, taken the leaves along to allow water into the drain & dug a channel for the flooding that occurs every time it rains due to the runoff from the road, which has nowhere to go. Sort this out. It would add 5 minutes to the regular schedule.

Building up again as it’s still not on anyone’s rota.

Because you haven’t allocated this job to anyone street cleaning or Parks no one deals with it. I swept this out, again, in early January as it was overflowing. It is again. It just needs to go on someone’s rota - once a month or two even.
